Mid-Week

Thames Street Toddlers

Latest News: Toddler Group re-opens on 22 June for four sessions.

We meet every Tuesday in term time from 10.00 - 11.30am. It is open to all pre-school children with their carers. It is a very friendly group and there is plenty of space and lots of toys. Numbers are variable as some people come every week and others drop in from time to time. The average attendance is about 30 families. We try to provide a safe environment, but parents or carers are responsible for their children. Entry is free but there is a small charge for drinks and biscuits.

There is a group of volunteer helpers organised by Olive Lindstrand, but help with setting up and packing away is always appreciated. We run parenting courses from time to time. Information can be found by using contact facility or e-mailing toddlers@wallingford.org.uk or speaking to Olive on a Tuesday morning.

Summer holiday club

We run an annual week-long holiday club in the summer which is open to primary school age children from the church and the local community. This is always great fun.

Housegroups

Housegroups are arguably the core activity of our church, with most of our members involved in one. There are five evening groups, meeting at homes in Wallingford, Shillingford and North Stoke on Tuesday (1), Wednesday (3) and Thursday (1). Another group meets on a Thursday morning at the church, often with creche provided (see below). Some of these groups have distinct age profiles - you can find out if you are likely to fit by contacting the leader or someone you know who attends. You can try them out and not attend again - nobody will be offended! Further groups are defined by age, gender or activity, such as Senior Fellowship (Thursday afternoons), youth house group (Sunday evenings) and 'Manthing' (various evenings). Generally, most housegroups exist to study the Bible, encourage members to grow in their Christian faith, and provide a social contact, with partners and friends being welcomed to occasional functions.

Thursday morning housegroup

The Thursday morning housegroup meets at church between 9:30 to 11:30 during term time for coffee, Bible study, prayer and fellowship. We aim to be a supportive group and welcome anyone who would like to join us, we don't mind if you are accompanied by pre-school children. Sometimes we are able to provide a creche but please come regardless. We also welcome anyone who is just finding out about Christianity. For more information please e-mail Tricia Godfrey using the 'Contact us' facility on this site.
